If you are showing a meat goat in the state of South Dakota you will want to check the State Fair Handbook every year to watch for rule changes.  It seems they are always changing these classes as meat goats have exploded in numbers in the last 10-15 years.  It takes a long time to get all the kinks out and as everything else it is constantly evolving on a national level also.  

Another important thing to decide is if you will be showing your female goat as a weather dam/market doe(these are now the same thing) or a breeding doe.  This will determine how you will clip your animal for the show.  

You can always enter an educational poster, educational display, or complete the curriculum.  You could also make a goat stand to clip your goats on, a halter, or a hay sack along with any other ideas you may come up with.
